Massachusetts Cannabis Delivery Laws Explained (2026)

Cannabis delivery is legal in Massachusetts, and the rules are simpler than most people expect. This is a plain-English overview for adults 21+. It is general information, not legal advice, so check the Cannabis Control Commission for the official rules.

Is cannabis delivery legal in Massachusetts?

Yes. Massachusetts voters legalized adult-use cannabis in 2016, and licensed home delivery is now part of the market. Adults 21 and over can order from a licensed delivery service, as long as delivery is available at their address.

Who can order

  • You must be 21 or older.
  • You must show a valid government-issued photo ID when the order arrives.
  • The order is handed to the person who placed it.

Where delivery works

Delivery goes to a residential address. It does not go to public places such as streets or parks. College dorms and campus housing are not delivery locations, and short-term stays such as hotels are not a good fit either. Every town also sets its own rules, so whether we can deliver depends on your address. Our post on why some towns do not allow delivery explains why.

Daily purchase limit

Adults 21+ can buy up to 2 ounces of flower per day, or the equivalent in concentrates and edibles. Our menu stops a cart that goes over the limit. See our guide to the 2 ounce limit for more detail.

What to expect when your order arrives

Place your order online or in the app and pick a delivery window. When the driver arrives, have your ID ready. The driver checks it before handing over the order. If nobody 21+ with a valid ID is there to accept it, the order cannot be handed over.

Check your town
