Needham is a residential town on the Charles River with village centers at Needham Center and Needham Heights, direct access to Route 128, and a business district along Needham Street. Dris delivers to homes across town, including Birds Hill and Needham Junction.
Needham has mostly single-family houses, so the handoff happens at the front door; have your ID ready when the driver arrives.
Needham covers more ground than many people expect. Dris delivers to Needham Center and its Great Plain Avenue shops, to the Needham Heights neighborhoods near Highland Avenue, and to the quieter streets of Birds Hill and Highlandville. Chestnut Street, Central Avenue and the Route 128 corridor make crossing town straightforward. Wellesley, Newton and Dedham are the nearest towns on the Dris list, and Westwood and Dover lie to the south and southwest. Plenty of Needham households choose delivery because they would rather not drive to another town. We bring each order the same day to a private residence in Needham. The adult who answers the door must be at least 21 and must present a valid photo ID. The commuter rail line through Needham Junction and Needham Center gives the town its distinct, village feel.
Dris covers these parts of Needham:
Nearby towns on the Dris delivery list: Newton, Wellesley, Natick, Dedham, Westwood, and West Roxbury. Newton and Wellesley border Needham to the north and west, Dedham and Westwood to the south and east, and the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston is to the northeast.
Dris delivers Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 11pm and Sunday from 12pm to 10pm. At checkout you pick a delivery window; each window stops taking orders one hour before it starts, and if one is full or closed you choose the next. Needham is in the same delivery zone as every other Dris town, so the delivery fee (free on orders of $100 or more after discounts and points, before tax) and the $50 minimum are the same here as anywhere else on the list. ASAP delivery appears at checkout only where it is turned on for your address. Adults 21+ with a valid ID; we deliver to off-campus homes and apartments only, not to dorms or campus housing. See the full delivery rules or the list of every town we deliver to.
Which parts of Needham does Dris deliver to?
Dris delivers across Needham, including Needham Center, Needham Heights, and Birds Hill. Enter your address at checkout to confirm it is inside the delivery zone.
Does Dris deliver to Needham Heights and Birds Hill?
Yes. Both are covered, along with Needham Center and the rest of town. Your address is confirmed at checkout.
What do I need to have ready when the driver arrives in Needham?
The person who placed the order must be at the door, 21 or older, with a valid government-issued photo ID that matches the name on the order. Without it, the order goes back with the driver.
What happens if I am not home for a delivery in Needham?
The driver waits at least 5 minutes. If no one is there, a missed-delivery fee is added to your next order.
