Paying
Paying at the door: delivery fee, cash, debit and tips
Short answerYou pay your driver at the door with cash or a debit card. Nothing is charged online and orders aren't prepaid; we never ask for your card number online, so card numbers never reach our systems. The amount due at the door is rounded up to the next whole dollar for easy change, and checkout shows it. Paying by debit: your driver will ask to charge the amount due rounded up to the next $5, and the card reader adds a $3.50 fee on top. The rounded-up amount is not given back as change. Checkout shows the amount to expect on your card before you place the order.
You don't enter a card online and nothing is prepaid. You pay your driver in person when your order arrives.
What we accept
- Cash
- Debit cards
We can't take credit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Your card details stay with you
We never ask for a card number on our website or in our app, and there's no card to save in your account. When you pay by debit, you pay at the door, so card numbers never reach our systems.
What to have ready
Checkout shows exactly what to have ready at the door, and your order page shows it too. Along with payment, please have your physical ID in hand: your driver checks it before handing anything over.
Why the amount is a round number. To make paying quick, the amount due at the door is rounded up to the next whole dollar. Checkout shows the rounding as its own small line, so you always know what it is. Your order total and taxes stay exactly as calculated. It applies to cash and debit alike.
If you pay by debit
Paying by debit usually comes to more than the amount due at the door. Here is what to expect:
- Your driver will ask to charge the amount due rounded up to the next $5. The rounded-up amount is not given back as change.
- The card reader adds a $3.50 fee on top of that amount.
For example, when $43.27 is due, the amount due at the door is $44.00. Your driver will ask to charge $45.00, the card reader adds $3.50, and you can expect about $48.50 on your card. Checkout shows the amount to expect on your card before you place the order, and your order page and order emails show it again.
If you would rather not, you can pay in cash. If you pay in cash, you pay the amount due at the door, rounded up to the next whole dollar as above.
What's in your total
Your total at checkout lists everything, so there are no surprises at the door:
- your products, after any deals or promo code
- any points you're using, which come off before tax
- state and local cannabis taxes
- the delivery fee: $4, or nothing when your order comes to $100 or more after discounts and points, before tax
- any fee from a past order, such as a missed-delivery fee or late-cancel fee, shown as its own line
- any account credit you have, which comes off what you owe
Fees from a past order aren't taxed.
Tipping your driver
Tips are always appreciated and always up to you. They go to your driver and can be given in cash at the door.
Check it, then pay
When your driver hands your order over, take a moment to check it before you pay. At the door you accept the whole order or refuse the whole order; we can't take back part of an order. All sales are final and there are no refunds, so if something doesn't look right, tell your driver before you accept. More in If something's wrong with your order.
Receipts
We email your receipt to the address on your account, and your past orders are in your account under Orders.
